Gemalto solution introduces picture card programs to Austrian bank

Monday, May 10, 2010

The RZB (Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich) of the Raiffeisen Banking Group out of Austria has recently adopted Gemalto security solutions for their customized payment card designs. Gemalto’s Web-based technology enables users to customize their EMV payment card with a picture of their own choice making it the first picture card program in Austria’s banking community.

Gemalto’s RELOAD, which RZB has begun rolling out since early 2010, is a re-loadable prepaid card compliant with the Dynamic Data Authentication (DDA) standard. The card features international capability that allows consumers to use in retail outlets, make online payments and withdraw cash.

Additionally Gemalto supplied RZB with a complete turnkey solution featuring web interface, printing and personalization services. The photograph will be uploaded to the bank’s Web site creating an individual unique card for each customer.

Gemalto handles image approval before any order is placed and carries out fulfillment of the card order. This includes passing along the card’s PIN code to the end user. [end]
