Visa introduces CodeSure Matrix Display card

Wednesday, September 28, 2011

Visa Europe, in partnership with Emue Technologies and NagraID Security, has added the CodeSure Matrix Display card to its CodeSure card portfolio.

The Matrix Display card is built on the CodeSure multi-channel authentication system and due to its dot matrix display and soft touch keypad, can be customized for local language and usability preferences.

The card has added security to accommodate Card Not Present purchasing environments, and cardholders are also able to use Verified by Visa services without needing to register or memorize a separate password. Other system uses include eBanking, telephone banking, transactions signing and access to third party services.

The CodeSure Matrix Display card will make its appearance over the next few months as Visa Europe introduces it through trials and commercial projects. [end]

HSBC announced that it will begin the conversion to contactless technology this month, replacing all customer banking debit cards, according to ThinkMoney.com.

The bank will start to roll out the new contactless cards to existing customers whose debit cards are due to expire this month and then continue the process as cards expire. Customers who don’t want a contactless card can opt out by contacting their bank before their current card expires.
