Gemalto provides EMV services to Diners Club Spain

Diners Club Spain has chosen Gemalto to help it migrate to EMV in 2012. In this effort, Gemalto is providing consulting and personalization services to Diners Club Spain.

So far, Diners Club Spain and Gemalto have announced the availability of an approved EMV application for Diners Club. Gemalto is also providing DDA payment cards that are compliant with the Discover Financial Services D-PAS.


With this partnership, Gemalto can count all international payment associations as EMV clients. Gemalto will support all Diners Club issuers around the world in EMV migration efforts. [end] 

Japanese teleco KDDI has selected Gemalto to help roll out NFC services to KDDI’s 34 million subscribers.

According to Gemalto, the company is providing KDDI with its Allynis Trusted Service Manager (TSM) software and UpTeq NFC high-end security device to aid in the deployment of multiple contactless services ranging from mobile payments, transit ticketing, e-driver’s licenses and smart posters.

Al Bilad Bank, a Shariah-based financial organization in Saudi Arabia, has deployed Gemalto’s Dexxis Instant Issuance solution for EMV payment cards in more than 120 bank branches. With this system, Al Bilad can issue up to 2,000 EMV DDA high-end security smart cards a day.

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd expanded its partner network in Southern Europe with the announcement of a joint venture with Spain-based security company Softmachine Systems.

The new affiliation aims to produce contactless access control solutions and installations for multifunctional visitor management including applications for electronic payment and time and attendance.

Gemalto announced it has been appointed by Oman Information Technology Authority (ITA) as prime contractor to secure the country’s eGovernment services. The full solution encompasses strong authentication and digital signature using the eID card, as well as mobile authentication using a mobile handset.
